Learn more about Mavoy
She was diagnosed with COVID-19, and as her conditions began to worsen she had to be placed on a ventilator and have an emergency C-section to save her baby. Mavoy suffered several setbacks and additional challenges before she was able to be transferred to Kindred Hospital South Florida – Hollywood where she could receive aggressive respiratory therapy and rehabilitation. Under the care of an interdisciplinary team, Mavoy started to make progress quickly and was soon able to be taken off the ventilator, needing only supplemental oxygen to support her ongoing recovery. She then worked with her rehab team who helped her get back her strength, mobility and independence; and by the time she was ready to be discharged from Kindred, Mavoy was well on her way to a full recovery and able to take care of all the tasks of daily life.
“I am so grateful to be able to go home and be with my newborn son and husband,” Mavoy shared.
