Specialized Hospital Care for Recovery

While many patients leave a traditional hospital within a few days, some continue to need hospital-level care to recover from a serious illness, injury, surgery, or extended ICU stay.

That's where Kindred Hospitals come in.

As long-term acute care hospitals (LTACHs), we provide physician-led care, specialized nursing, rehabilitation, and advanced clinical services for patients who still need hospital-level care before they're ready to return home.

The Kindred Difference

Recovering from a serious illness requires more than time. It takes specialized care, experienced clinicians, and a team working together to help you regain strength and safely return home. Here's what makes Kindred Hospitals different.

Specialized Clinical Staff

Our physician-led teams of specialists, ACLS-certified nurses, respiratory therapists, rehabilitation therapists, pharmacists, and dietitians specialize in caring for medically complex patients.

Commitment to Quality

Every Kindred Hospital has earned at least one Joint Commission Disease-Specific Care Certification, demonstrating our commitment to clinical excellence and evidence-based care.

Focus on Early Mobility

Kindred's Move Early Program incorporates movement into the care plan as early as possible, even for patients on mechanical ventilation, promoting timely recovery of prior function.

Post-Discharge Support

Our dedicated AfterCare team follows patients after discharge to reinforce care plans, answer questions, and support a successful transition home while helping reduce the risk of readmission.

Care for Complex Conditions

Patients come to our specialty hospitals with serious conditions such as respiratory failure, complex wounds, sepsis, stroke, congestive heart failure, or even a combination of these. Their diagnoses are often complicated by existing health problems like diabetes or COPD. Many of our patients require treatments such as mechanical ventilation, respiratory therapy, dialysis, or IV therapy.
