German’s Story
“I would like to thank the entire staff at Kindred for their excellent healthcare services.”
German came to Kindred Hospital Westminster after he had been admitted to an acute care facility and placed on a ventilator when he contracted COVID-19. At the beginning of his stay German required full assistance and support from his team of caregivers.

His respiratory therapists immediately began to work with him to strengthen his lungs and German started to respond to the treatments, making progress slowly but steadily until he was successfully weaned from mechanical ventilation. His rehab team had already begun its work to help German regain his mobility and independence, and once he was off the ventilator he began to improve much more quickly until he was back up on his feet and taking care of all the activities of daily life. When German was ready to be discharged, he had met or exceeded all the goals set for his recovery and was ready to go home to be with his family and continue his recovery.
“I would like to thank the entire staff at Kindred for their excellent healthcare services in caring for my dad’s health as he recovered from COVID-19,” a family member wrote. “It was by far one of the most difficult times my family and I faced, but we are grateful that God helped us get through this journey. After 111 days in the hospital, if it wasn’t for Kindred’s healthcare services and our prayers I don’t believe I’d be celebrating my ‘miracle dad.' We are beyond blessed to have him back home and Kindred will forever hold a special place in our hearts.”
