Visitor Information
For your safety, your loved one and all others in our hospital, we ask all visitors to:
- Get a visitor’s pass at the Information Desk when you arrive. We recommend limiting visitors to two at any one time as to not overwhelm your loved one and our care team. Visitor passes are valid only for the date and area displayed and we ask that you please wear them at all times while inside the hospital. Please return your visitor’s pass to the Information Desk when you leave.
- Check with the patient’s nurse for special restrictions that they may request based on your loved one’s care plan.
- Keep noise to a minimum.
- To avoid congestion in the hallways, please stay in your loved ones room while you visit.
- We are a tobacco-free hospitals. Smoking is not allowed anywhere in the hospital. It is a violation of the Smoke-free Illinois Act.
Visiting Hours
Rest is an important part of recovery, so we have established visiting schedules that we request you follow.
Medical Surgical Units and High Acuity Unit
Visiting hours are available daily from 10:30 am to 8:00 pm. Please limit the number of visitors to no more than two at a time in your loved ones room. Please have all other visitors wait in the main lobby until other visitors leave. Be aware that we may ask that you to wait outside the patient’s room while care is being provided.
Behavioral Health Unit
Visitors 18 and older are welcome to visit. Visiting hours on our mental health unit are limited to the following times:
- Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.
- Saturdays and Holidays from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Visiting with Children
Children under the age of 12 are not permitted on the units, however they are welcome to wait in common or family waiting areas. Children must be supervised at all times in order to ensure their safety and the safety of our patients.
Infection Control
We ask that all visitors observe general hygiene practices when entering and leaving patient rooms. This includes disinfecting hands using the sanitizer dispensers conveniently placed around the hospital.
For visitors of patients who are under special infection-control precautions or isolation, please read the isolation signs, check with the patient’s nurse, and make sure you understand and follow the required precautions.
Please refrain from visiting if you have a cough, runny nose and/or congestion, sore throat, body aches, unusual weakness or tiredness, fever, rash, open sores, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or exposure to any communicable diseases such as chicken pox, measles or mumps.
Cafeteria
The cafeteria is located on the ground level of the hospital and is open daily to all visitors and guests.
- Breakfast is served Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
- Lunch is served Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Complimentary coffee and tea are available throughout the day.
ATM
For your convenience, an ATM is located on the ground level near the elevators.
Vending Machines
Vending machines are available at all times in the family waiting area located on the first floor.
Chapel
The chapel is located on the ground level and is available to all of our guests and staff as a quiet place for prayer, meditation and reflection.
Parking and Security
Free parking is available in the south and east lots on Montrose Avenue. To exit the parking lots, you will need a parking token from the front desk. Handicapped parking spaces are available at both lots. Security escorts are available upon request. Additional street parking is also available.
Family Involvement
Family members have the opportunity to meet with clinical staff in a patient care conference to discuss your loved one’s current condition, re-evaluate the customized plan of care and progress and to ask any questions. These conferences promote communication and provide a regular forum in which all professionals involved in the patient’s care can address questions and concerns.
