Lurdes' Recovery from Respiratory Failure with Comprehensive Rehabilitation

Lurdes developed difficulty breathing, chills, and vomiting and was diagnosed with respiratory failure with low oxygen and excess carbon dioxide.

AT ADMISSION

Lurdes’ illness caused severe weakness, leaving her unable to walk or manage daily activities without complete assistance.

After stabilization, Lurdes transferred to Kindred Hospital San Gabriel Valley. She received physical, occupational, and speech therapy, progressing from total assistance to supervised mobility, independent self-care, speaking, and eating a regular diet.

After 116 days, Lurdes was discharged to a subacute rehabilitation unit for continued therapy.
