A Patient Success Story from Kindred Hospital Indianapolis North
Marie developed a sudden headache at home that worsened significantly—the result of bleeding around the brain. She required mechanical ventilation to breathe.
TREATMENT AT KINDRED
Marie suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage with an underlying aneurysm. Before the incident, she drove, did her own grocery shopping, and lived independently.
TREATMENT AT KINDRED
At Kindred Hospital Indianapolis North, Marie received respiratory therapy, IV antibiotics, wound care, and rehabilitation. She was successfully weaned from the ventilator, and her breathing tube was removed. In addition, an abdominal incision and tailbone wound healed, and she was able to sit in a chair.
OUTCOME
After 31 days, Marie was discharged to an acute inpatient rehabilitation facility.
"I am excited to get to the Rehab facility and get better."
