Seth went to the hospital with fever, weakness, and swelling in his right forearm. His symptoms indicated a serious infection requiring specialized care.

AT ADMISSION

Seth had sepsis, bloodstream and heart-valve infections, and a right forearm abscess. Complications included kidney and liver problems, infected clots in the brain, a collapsed lung, a severe pressure injury, and malnutrition.

At Kindred Hospital Central Tampa, Seth received wound care, IV antibiotics, physician care, and respiratory, occupational, and physical therapy. He progressed from being unable to stand without maximum help to independently completing daily activities and walking 250 feet with a cane.

OUTCOME

After 39 days of treatment, Seth returned home, eager to reunite with his family.
