Jesse's Success Story
"I couldn't have achieved it without the constant support of my spouse and the Kindred team." Jesse came to Kindred Hospital after a serious motorcycle accident left him with a traumatic brain injury. At Kindred, Jesse regained the ability to breathe on his own and made excellent progress toward regaining the active life he once had. After several weeks, Jesse was able to discharge to an acute rehabilitation unit.
Jesse was very active before his hospitalization. He enjoyed biking five miles daily. He also enjoyed his desserts; his wife described him as a “sweet tooth”. Unfortunately, his life was turned upside down when he was involved in a serious motorcycle accident.
Jesse was rushed to a trauma unit and was treated for a severe traumatic brain injury. He spent several weeks in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on a ventilator. He had a tracheostomy placed and was transferred to Kindred Hospital Los Angeles for specialized acute care.

Jesse participated in physical, occupational, and speech therapies. When he arrived at Kindred, he required full support for sitting, walking and eating. After weeks of treatment, he regained the ability to sit, walk, talk, and eat independently. After achieving these milestone goals, Jesse was transferred to a rehabilitation center where to continue his treatment.
