Alexander's Story of Recovery from Skull Fracture and Brain Bleed
When Alexander arrived at Kindred Hospital, he was reliant on a ventilator. After working with his interdisciplinary care team, he was able to discharge to home.
A Patient Success Story from Kindred Hospital Louisville
Alexander fell down a set of stairs, resulting in a skull fracture and multiple hemorrhagic contusions. He was diagnosed with lifethreatening brain bleeding. He received a tracheostomy and was placed on a ventilator and with a PEG tube.
Alexander was transferred to Kindred Hospital Louisville, where he spent 21 days recovering from his injuries. In that time, he received respiratory care, physical, occupational, and speech therapy, nursing care, and dietitian support.
He was successfully weaned off the ventilator and decannulated.
“My time here was great, and I am so thankful to the staff and doctors who helped me.”
Alexander progressed to the point that he could discharge from Kindred and return home to his wife.
