Henry's Story of Recovery Journey with Respiratory Therapy, Wound Care, and Therapy
When Henry arrived at Kindred Sugar Land, he received respiratory therapy, physical, occupational, and speech therapy, and antibiotic therapy. After working with his interdisciplinary care team, he was able to discharge to a Skilled Nursing Facility.
A Patient Success Story from Kindred Hospital Sugar Land
While recovering at a rehab facility, Henry suffered a traumatic brain hemorrhage with bleeding on both sides of the brain, and he began having seizures. He was taken to St. Luke’s hospital and was intubated to help his breathing. He was diagnosed with pneumonia and low blood pressure and had wounds on his lower back and feet.
Henry was transferred to Kindred Hospital Sugar Land on Jan. 7, 2026 for specialized long-term acute care and rehabilitation. During a 35-day stay, he received respiratory therapy and breathing treatments; physical, occupational, and speech therapy; and antibiotic therapy. He received wound care that included debridement (removal of damaged and infected tissue). Specialists in neurology and urology consulted on his care.
With the support of Kindred’s interdisciplinary care team, Henry, a husband and father, progressed and was able to be discharged to a skilled nursing facility to continue his recovery. After reaching an exciting milestone of being able to return to eating a regular diet, Henry complimented Kindred’s food.
“I appreciate all the nurses and therapists. They work like a team and helped me improve.”
