Jariah Success Story

Kindred Hospital Louisville patient Jariah stands with her caregiver and shares her success story

After experiencing a seizure, Jariah was diagnosed with blood clots and developed a severe infection.  At Kindred Hospital, Jariah received IV antibiotics and respiratory therapy that helped her recover.  After weaning from the ventilator, regaining her mobility, and eating by mouth again, Jariah was able to discharge to an acute rehabilitation facility.

Jariah was admitted to the local hospital after experiencing a seizure. Upon admission, they found blood clots, and she required a breathing and feeding tube. Unfortunately, her hospital course was further complicated by a severe infection.

Once stabilized, Jariah was admitted to Kindred Hospital Louisville for continued medical care. Her care team developed a specialized plan for her recovery, including IV antibiotics and ventilator weaning.

Jariah made great progress in all aspects of her recovery due to her positive attitude, the loving support from her family and friends, and her dedicated team of providers at Kindred.

She was an active participant in all her skilled occupational and physical therapy sessions, along with working with her speech therapist so she could eat by mouth again.

Upon discharge to a local acute rehab center, Jariah was walking, eating, and infection-free!

Care for Complex Conditions

Patients come to our hospitals with serious conditions such as respiratory failure, complex wounds, sepsis, stroke, congestive heart failure, or even a combination of these. Their diagnoses are often complicated by existing health problems like diabetes or COPD. Many of our patients require treatments such as mechanical ventilators, dialysis, or IV therapy.
