Adam had experienced cardiac arrest and had to be resuscitated. He suffered from life-threatening diabetic ketoacidosis and multiple other concerns, including recurring seizures, acute hypoxic respiratory failure, septic shock, aspiration pneumonia, and acute kidney injury. His family was told to “say goodbye” and that he had about a 5% chance of survival. Adam underwent tracheostomy and feeding-tube placement before being transferred to Kindred Hospital Bay Area – St. Petersburg for continuation of care. Learn more about his recovery here.

After undergoing surgery to treat an abdominal abscess, Sylvia transferred to Kindred Hospital for advanced wound care, antibiotic therapy, and rehabilitation. Having made a tremendous recovery, she was discharged home.

Jacqueline was hospitalized with respiratory failure, sepsis, and kidney injury, leaving her weak and dependent on high-flow oxygen. After transferring to Kindred Hospital, she received comprehensive rehabilitation and gradually regained her strength and independence.

Desirae was hospitalized with severe complication including sepsis, respiratory failure, and kidney injury, requiring intensive care and ventilator support. After being transferred to Kindred Hospital, she began to breathe and move independently once again.
