When Davion arrived at Kindred Hospital, he required respiratory therapy, infectious disease care, wound care, occupational, and physical therapy and care from a general surgeon. While recovering at a rehab facility, Henry suffered a traumatic brain hemorrhage with bleeding on both sides of the brain, and he began having seizures. He was taken to a hospital where he was diagnosed with pneumonia and low blood pressure and had wounds on his lower back and feet. Henry was transferred to Kindred Hospital Sugar Land for specialized long-term acute care and rehabilitation. During a 35-day stay, he received respiratory therapy and breathing treatments; physical, occupational, and speech therapy; and antibiotic therapy. With the support of Kindred’s interdisciplinary care team, Henry progressed and was able to be discharged to a skilled nursing facility to continue his recovery. Read more about his story here.

Brian was admitted to Memorial Hospital with myocarditis and was placed on a ventilator. He came to Kindred Hospital for ventilator weaning, cardiac care, and physical therapy, and was able to transfer to an acute rehabilitation unit where he continued his PT.

After falling at home, Charles was diagnosed with bleeding in the brain and later developed respiratory failure. He was transferred to Kindred for specialized cognitive rehabilitation and ventilator weaning.

After sustaining an injury during a river trip that led to a serious infection and necrotizing fasciitis, Sandra came to Kindred Hospital for advanced wound care and rehabilitation. After receiving specialized treatments, including vacuum-assisted closure, IV antibiotics, and progressive physical therapy, she was discharged with over 90% wound closure.

Uskov was diagnosed with pneumonia and fluid around his lungs. At Kindred Hospital, he participated in a robust pulmonary rehabilitation program allowing him to recover his lung function. After making significant progress, he was discharged home to Ukraine.

Andrew lived with blindness in both eyes, a leg amputation, diabetes, and high blood pressure before experiencing a stroke that left him bedbound. After developing an infection on his lower back, he was transferred to Kindred Hospital for physical and occupational therapy. Andrew regained many of his daily skills and discharged to an acute rehabilitation center to continue his journey.

Deborah lived with stage 3 chronic kidney disease along with several other conditions. After a procedure to treat kidney stones, she suffered shortness of breath requiring oxygen support. She was transferred to Kindred Hospital Houston Northwest where she worked with her respiratory, physical, and occupational therapists to recover.
