Before coming to Kindred Hospital South Florida – Coral Gables, Moises underwent a series of complex neck and jaw surgeries to remove a cancerous tumor. The surgeries, combined with Moises’ history of respiratory conditions, compromised his airway. Joseph was living and functioning independently with one of his children prior to being hospitalized with respiratory failure that required placement of a breathing tube. After several failed attempts at getting Joseph to breathe independently, he required a tracheostomy. When he arrived at Kindred Hospital South Florida – Coral Gables, he was still experiencing multiple issues, including respiratory airway securement via intubation and mechanical ventilation. After suffering a brainstem stroke and developing respiratory failure, Jean was transferred to Kindred Hospital The Palm Beaches for specialized care, arriving with a tracheostomy, feeding tube, and limited mobility. Through intensive respiratory therapy, rehabilitation, and speech therapy, he regained the ability to walk 30 feet with a walker, eat and drink by mouth, and breathe independently by the time of his discharge to acute rehab.

Muhammad was admitted to the hospital with a brain bleed and there developed respiratory failure. He was transferred to Kindred Hospital to breathing, moving, speaking, and eating on his own again. After making remarkable strides in mobility, and having his tracheostomy and feeding tube removed, Muhammad was ready to move on to Kindred's acute rehabilitation unit.

After a fall at home led to a brain bleed and respiratory failure, Judith was transferred to Kindred Hospitals for ventilator weaning, feeding tube removal, and therapy. By the time of discharge to Kindred's acute rehabilitation unit, she could talk, eat, and breath on her own. She had also made strides in mobility and was ready to take the next steps in her rehabilitation.
